We`ve been hard at work squashing bugs and adding new features. The main thing I want to mention is that we have fixed an issue with our bandwidth provider that was causing extreme buffering problems with video playback for our free members. This problem has been affecting the site for the last week or so, and you probably noticed the 10-20 second buffering stops. Now that this has been fixed, videos on the free bandwidth line should only buffer for a few seconds after every minute to minute and a half of play time at our current bandwidth usage.
We`ve also fixed a problem preventing users from updating or uploading a new profile avatar, and many other odds and ends. Look for more updates and features coming soon!

By now, you have surely noticed the giant box to the right that says "Platinum". FEAR NOT! We now offer a premium PLATINUM membership option for all of our users, in addition to our existing Free Member account option. For a small subscription fee, you will get access to the greatest features that the adult corner of the Internet has ever offered. No matter how experienced a member is, they will have noticed the "buffering" times associated with online streaming. This is due to an ever-increasing demand from thousands of users, which are all using the same bandwidth channel from us. As a Platinum Member, you will gain access to a dedicated and faster line so that you will not have to wait or see the "buffering" screen. Do bouncing-titty ads bother you while you`re enjoying a video? We got rid of `em for Platinum Members. There are lots more great features that Platinum offers; to see all of the Platinum benefits, check out the registration page.
However, should you choose not to upgrade, your daily "regimen" shall not be unnaturally disturbed by our new PLATINUM membership option. We`re not changing anything about the regular Free Member accounts and for most, Platinum will be quite the luxury. If you are still not interested in a Platinum membership, you can create a Free Member account from the registration page. Free member accounts still have full access to SpankWire`s entire library, the ability to post comments, and the ability to upload/host videos, so essentially nothing has changed for free members.
P.S. - For all you naysayers who don`t understand how internet hosting or running a website works, we`d be more than happy if you`d foot the bandwidth bill with your pocket change... if it`s the size of a trust fund, because that is what it would take, each month. Bandwidth costs are higher than ever and streaming video sites that don`t have "Youtube-like" investors need a way to keep the service going. In short, don`t be a bitch.
Remember, going Platinum is much cheaper than flowers, dinner, and a movie! :-)
REMINDER: A 1-year membership works out to roughly 20 cents per day, which simply covers the cost of using extra bandwidth and getting your name taken off of our advertisers` list! Rest assured, you are NOT paying for the public user uploads that are already readily available for free to all viewers of SpankWire.com, regardless of account status.

We have just released a new patch with lots of minor fixes and additions. Most noticeably we have added a "Sharing" section on the video page. You will see the link next to the comments link. In the sharing section there are links to download the video, as well as send it to a friend, or bookmark it with the popular bookmarking sites.

But seriously....Spankwire v2.0.....look at it, play with it, and cuddle with it. We give you a website that finally matches the "attractive" content. You'll have noticed the brand new, intuitive layout, but there is so much more. Granted, we could have simply released this a week or two ago, but certain "hands-on testing"(*cough*) had to be performed. Many dedicated developers delved deep into the darkest dreary nights to bring you what your eyes behold now.
Besides the new layout and ease of use, some of the things you'll notice are:
- You can now click anywhere on a video time line and the streaming will start there them.
- We increased the streaming speed slightly.
- The main list of videos is separated into Newest and Upcoming. The newest videos option is the default and will show you the popular high rated content. Upcoming is where videos are shown initially so check here often and vote on these videos so the good ones make it get onto the homepage.
- Video player size and quality have been greatly increased.
- You can now tag videos as a favorite, then see your favorites in your Profile.
- There are now tabs for Gay and Tranny content which divide the content on the site so you only get what you want to see.
- Games and Pictures sections have been taken down temporarily while we revamp them.
- A Homepage RSS feed.
- There is no longer a 10 minute video length limit.
- Optimized for "one-handed typing"....just kidding
We also have some great new community features:
- Public Profiles. You can now view other users profiles to see what videos they have voted/commented on. If you wish to hide this information you can do so in your profile settings page.
- New comment system. Rating other users comments can now affect how they are show. If a comment gets enough negative votes it will become less noticeable, and it will ultimately be hidden, this is a great way for the community to help block spammers and idiots. If a comment is great and everyone votes it up it will become more visible.
We also have alot more features coming soon:
- Animated thumbnails.
- Sharing. Better and easier ways to share Spankwire with your friends/blogs/community sites.
- Other features and ideas from your comments, so send us feedback!
